It’s been a while, but Reno Swings is excited to be back in your inbox with a monthly update for June 2026! In this newsletter you’ll find info about what’ll be shakin’ down at our weekly lessons at the American Legion Hall, upcoming opportunities to go dancing out and about the community, as well as a “Save the Date” for a regional workshop in Sacramento!
Sharpen Those Skills
As a fresh offering, all month long the beginner lessons will focus on a dance concept. Attending all the beginner lessons in the month will help prepare you for the intermediate lesson which takes place on the last Wednesday of the month. This June we’ll be focusing on “Playing with Tempo”. The beginner room is also open for those who miss a lesson or don’t feel quite ready for the intermediate room.

Upcoming Sacramento Workshops
Spotlight Ballroom in Sacramento will be hosting a fun, beginner-focused Lindy Hop workshop on Saturday, June 20th! Whether you’re brand new to dancing, looking to refresh your basics, or finally bringing that friend you’ve been trying to get out dancing, this is the perfect place to start.
Ron and Amber will guide you through the foundations of Lindy Hop in a relaxed, easy-to-follow 3-hour workshop starting at 1pm. By the end of the afternoon, you’ll be swinging out and ready to hit the dance floor with confidence. We’re starting at the beginning so everybody’s on the same page.
MidSummer Mashup is an annual workshop event hosted by our friends at Spotlight Ballroom in Sacramento. You’re going to get awesome workshops by amazing instructors, plus three social dances and contests that add to the fun! Thursday night’s dance will be in Rocklin at The Chalet Event Center. Friday and Saturday nights will feature classes and dancing at Midtown Stomp, with additional classes during the day on Saturday. More details to come, but put it on your calendar! June 9th-11th, 2026.
