Wow, July was so much fun! Thank you all so much for dancing with us all around town for Artown. We’re already looking forward to next year!
In this newsletter you’ll find info about what’ll be shakin’ down at our weekly lessons at the American Legion Hall, upcoming opportunities to go dancing out and about, and info about the Carson City Jazz and Beyond Festival.
Sharpen Those Skills
All month long the beginner lesson room focuses on a common dance concept. Attending all the beginner lessons in the month will help prepare you for the intermediate lesson which takes place on the last Wednesday of the month. The beginner room is still open for those who miss a lesson or don’t feel quite ready for the intermediate room at the end of the month.
This August we’ll be focusing on Charleston! We’ll start off August with a Solo Charleston lesson to build familiarity with the step pattern, and progress to partner Charleston on the second Wednesday. The last Wednesday intermediate class will feature a lesson on Tandem Charleston – it’s a lot of fun!

Monthly Dress Up Theme Night!
Each month on the last Wednesday we’re inviting folks to dress for a theme. This month to couple with our Charleston dance concept, we’re dressing like the 1920s! Ladies, think dropped waistlines, pleats, and flapper fringe. Guys, shoot for high waisted trousers with suspenders paired with a vest. Here’s some inspiration pics incase you need some ideas:

The Mile High Jazz Band Association presents Carson City’s 23nd Annual Jazz & Beyond Music Festival, featuring 10 days of free entertainment and over 25 performances! The beat returns this August in multiple venues around the city from Friday August 14th through Sunday August 23th. Check out their website for all the details!
