July marks the beginning of Artown in Reno, the busiest month for arts and culture in Northern Nevada. There are too many events happening to list in this newsletter, so be sure to check out the Artown website and mark your calendar for all the upcoming music and dance events happening around town!

Sharpen Those Skills
All month long the beginner lesson room focuses on a common dance concept. Attending all the beginner lessons in the month will help prepare you for the intermediate lesson which takes place on the last Wednesday of the month. The beginner room is also open for those who miss a lesson or don’t feel quite ready for the intermediate room. This July we’ll be focusing on “Frame”.

MidSummer Mashup
MidSummer Mashup is an annual workshop event hosted by our friends at Spotlight Ballroom in Sacramento. You’re going to get awesome workshops by amazing instructors, plus three social dances and contests that add to the fun! Thursday night’s dance will be in Rocklin at The Chalet Event Center. Friday and Saturday nights will feature classes and dancing at Midtown Stomp, with additional classes during the day on Saturday. More details to come, but put it on your calendar! July 9th-11th, 2026.
Jazz and Beyond Music Festival
Mile High Jazz Band Association presents Carson City’s 23nd Annual Jazz & Beyond Music Festival, with 10 days of free entertainment and over 25 performances. The beat returns this August in multiple venues around the city from Friday August 14th through Sunday August 23th. Check out their website for a full schedule of events!
